Move Microsoft Office From One To Another

Move microsoft office from one to another windows 10-->

You can't transfer a Microsoft 365 domain to another registrar for 60 days after you purchase the domain from Microsoft.

Note

  1. First, sign in to your Office 365 account. Use the app launcher and navigate to admin. In the admin dashboard, under “admin center”, click on “Exchange” (you may need to click “Show all” to access). Under “recipients” click on “Mailboxes”.
  2. If you have got a Microsoft Office subscription, then it would have been linked to your account instead. This is a smarter approach and lets us move our Office suite from one system to another. You simply need to deactivate your Office 365 subscription from your first computer, install it on your new system, and activate the subscription there.

May 20, 2021 Transfer Office 2010 or 2013 License. For transferring Microsoft Office 2010 & 2013 from one PC to another, below are the steps given: Uninstall the current Microsoft Office installation from your PC, Open control panel Program & Features select MS Office 2010 or 2013. Right-click on the application and click Uninstall.

A Whois query shows a Microsoft purchased domain registrar as Wild West Domains LLC. However, only Microsoft should be contacted regarding your Microsoft 365 purchased domain.

Follow these steps to get a code at Microsoft 365, and then go to the other domain registrar website to set up transferring your domain name to the new registrar.

Transfer a domain

  1. In the admin center, go to Settings > Domains.

  2. On the Domains page, select the Microsoft 365 domain that you want to transfer to another domain registrar, and then select Check health.

  3. At the top of the page, select Transfer domain.

  4. On the Choose where to transfer your domain page, select A different registrar, and then click Next.

  5. On the Unlock domain transfer page, select Unlock transfer for <your domain>, and then select Next.

  6. Check your domain transfer contact information, and then select Next.

  7. Copy the authorization code and wait about 30 minutes for your domain transfer status to change to Unlocked for transfer on the Registration tab before you proceed with next steps.

  8. Go to the website of the domain registrar you want to manage your domain name going forward. Follow directions for transferring a domain (search for help on their website). This usually means paying transfer fees and giving the Authcode to the new registrar so they can initiate the transfer. Microsoft will email you to confirm we’ve received the transfer request, and the domain will transfer within 5 days.

You can find the authorization code Registration tab on the Domains page in Microsoft 365.

    Tip

.uk domains require a different procedure. Contact Microsoft Support and request an IPS Tag change to match the registrar you want to manage your domain going forward. Once the tag changes, the domain immediately transfers to the new registrar. You will then need to work with the new registrar to complete the transfer, likely paying transfer fees and adding the transferred domain to your account with your new registrar.

  9. After the transfer is complete, you'll renew your domain at the new domain registrar.

  10. To finish the process, go back to the Domains page in the admin center, and then select Complete domain transfer. This will mark the domain as no longer purchased from Microsoft 365, and will disable the domain subscription. It will not remove the domain from the tenant, and will not affect existing users and mailboxes on the domain.

Note

Microsoft 365 purchased domains are not eligible for nameserver changes or transferring the domain between Microsoft 365 organizations. If either of these are required, the domain registration must be transferred to another registrar.

Though transferring Microsoft Office installation onto a new computer sometimes becomes messy, as there are a couple of conditions specified by Microsoft (software product installation and transfer policies) which should be taken under consideration before the actual transfer.

In this article, we’ll guide you on How to transfer Microsoft office to another computer without messing the software license or anything else.

Before we jump straight to the steps, there are a few things we should discuss to clear things up.

There are three (3) specific conditions which should be met to transfer your Office installation onto a different PC,

  1. Every paid Microsoft product comes with a 25-character product key which is necessary for activating the software.
  2. For transferring the Office installation onto a different PC, the License should support transfers.
  3. You should have Office installation media (disk or file) matching with the Product Key.

Note: Above conditions do not apply to Office 365 & 2016, as for these or later versions of Office the License association has been shifted to client’s email, not with the hardware.

The whole process of transferring the Microsoft Office 2010 & 2013 installation comprises multiple steps, so you’ll have to go one-by-one.

Check the License type

Microsoft offers Office with different License tags, and every specific License type holds some restrictions, therefore first it is mandatory to know the License type of your Office installation.

Below are the most popular Microsoft Office License types:

FPPFull Product Pack
HUPHome Use Program
OEMOriginal Equipment Manufacturer
PKCProduct Key Card
POSAPoint of Sale Activation
ACADEMICPreviously it was meant for secondary students, now the program has been discontinued.
ESDElectronic Software Download

  7. In a few seconds, the license info would pop on-screen; if you see the words Retail or FPP you can proceed to transfer your Office installation onto a different PC.

Check the right to transfer the license

Like it is mentioned above, the next step would be checking your rights to transfer the License from one PC to another.

License with the tags Retail or FPP would allow Office 2010 & 2013 transfer; for rest of the Office License types, the installation is restrained to die with the hardware & transferring the Office License & installation won’t be possible.
