If you’re on Mac OS X and you also happen to be running Skype, you’ll be happy to know that an update has been released that makes for a “more stable” experience when using the VoIP and IM software on your platform.
There may be multiple versions of Skype available for your operating system. The following steps will help you find out which version of Skype you're using on your computer. Sign into Skype. Skype’s new release focuses on “improving user experience and stability.” According to the Skype post:
“Occasionally, some users experienced crashes on launch, and others on quit. Thanks to some valuable assistance from users in the Community Forums, we’ve been able to identify the cause of these crashes. This release contains fixes for both of them.”
Skype Version 6.15 For Mac

Skype also fixes the animated emoticons issue that was highlighted in the previous version, version 6.14, for the OS. Skype recommends that MacBook Pros users update to Mac OS X 10.9.2 to prevent crashes when screen sharing.
Old Skype Version
If you set Skype to notify you of something and the feature doesn’t seem to work, don’t worry, the problem lies with a bug in the software. A bug that Microsoft has fixed, allowing users to use Notification Settings… from the Conversations menu to set notification keywords and more.
As usual, customers are encouraged to provide their invaluable feedback in order to address any newly emerged issues; as of now, Skype 6.15 doesn’t appear to include any known issues.
